Wes Orazine for McCracken County Sheriff

     Wes and his wife, Ginger, have been married for 23 years. They have two adult children, Taelor and Chase and two Grandchildren Lincoln and Ava. Wes and Ginger were both born and raised in McCracken County and are proud to call it home.

     Wes is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served for over 6 years and where his career in Law Enforcement began. In 2001 he was hired by the Paducah Police Department, where he received the vast majority of his experience, and retired as a Captain in August of 2020. Wes began working at the McCracken County Sheriff's Department in November of 2020.  In September of 2021, Wes announced his intentions to run for Sheriff. He is currently employed by McCracken County Schools as a School Resource Officer and Attendance/Truancy Specialist.

Wes has received 5 Service Commendation awards and 3 Life Saving awards. He is a 2019 recipient of the Chief's Award, a 2015 recipient of the Administrative Commendation award and awarded in 2014 for his Meritorious Service. 

    Wes has also held many Instructor certifications throughout his Law Enforcement Career.

     Wes is a 2012 graduate of the Academy of Police Supervision (APS) Class XLVIII and a 2018 graduate of the Criminal Justice Executive Development (CJED) Class XXIII. He has also completed the Supervisor Leadership Institute (SLI) and Command Leadership Institute (CLI) courses through the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association.
